According to they Mayan's, we weren't even supposed to be here. Well, here we are and I am full swing into my ELF mode. I love making gifts this time of year. Please don't think I'm one of those crafty people that make their own bread and clothes. Nope. The reason I love to make gifts is that I hate to shop. I don't like to watch people self-destruct in the parking lot and in the check out lines. People, people, people, it's not the end of the world. Christmas is supposed to celebrate the birth of a new beginning.

Are You Ready?
When people ask me if I'm ready, I get confused if they are taking about the end of the world or Christmas. In typical fashion, I got inspired. I thought this would be a good time to start creating things. When the craving to create gets a hold of me, I get busy. After a stop to the fabric store and Target to get some wooden spoons, I was ready.
I made a collection of six spoons for my woman's creative group. We meet monthly and this time we were passing out gifts. It was a great gathering full of warmth and friendship. Everybody loved their spoon.
I also got it into my head that I wanted to make bacon everything as gifts for people that would appreciate that all roads lead to bacon. I made a scarf, pillow case, and sleeping eye cover. I just know my niece will love her gift (if I can part with it).
What other things can I make with "bacon"? I would love to hear about what creative projects you are making that keeps you "ready" for the end of the world or the celebration of a new one. Share in the comments below.
